Abstract: | In this paper, issues in the funding and accountability in special needs education in Nigeria are highlighted. The role of the
Universal Basic Education (UBE) in fimding special needs education is discussed. Funding special needs education in the
other countries is also presented. Moreso, the paper outlines three fimding models in special needs education; demand driven, supply driven, output and mixed finding models. More so, the sources of
fimding in special needs education are also enumerated. The paper also provided recommendations in terms of adopting a feasible fiinding model aimed towards improving fitnding and accountability in special needs education in Nigeria. |
