A Panacea for Teachers’ Conflict In the Implementation of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Programme in Nigeria

Abstract

Nigeria has battled for so many years with the question of falling standard in education. The situation appears to stem profoundly from incessant crisis as a result of teachers’ conflict in the education system which has adversely aflected the attainment of high academic standards. This paper x- rays the evolution and the occurrences of teachers’ conflict in Nigeria's educational system. Government approaches at the various stages of conflicts aimed at providing resolutions are examined while suggestions meant to remedy the situation to give a sound and sustainable UBE programme implementation are proffered.
