Abstract: Conventional biodegradable agricultural and household wastes (sorghum stalks, sawdust, rice and beans wastes) have been biodegraded in a mini pilot bio-digester at 33°C. The volume ofbiogas formed in each of the systems was determined and the relative degradability of the substrates compared. When ranked, the substrates performed as follows: softwood sawdust> maize stalk > guinea corn stalk> hardwood sawdust> beans alone> beans/rice mix.
